Hi and welcome to The Bread Friend. I’m Aly, a self-taught baker living in the Midwest. I started this blog as a place to share the results of trialing hundreds of recipes. Over the years I’ve baked everything from sourdough to croissants to cake. Each mediocre batch has resulted in many attempts to perfect it and many happy friends enjoying the results. My goal is to share everything I’ve learned in my wins and woes.

When I’m not baking, you’ll probably find me hanging out with my cats, knitting, or playing games.
